This is all about process!! My desire to remind myself and others to pay attention to and explore the concept of process through the observation of the changes that occur over time in the making of 100 cups. It is a culmination of 37 years working in clay and a continuing expression of my love of the organic beauty in Art Nouveau. The blog is also a new collaboration with my son, Amory. The blog itself is a process..the exhibition of 100 Cups will be a process..and on and on.....
This is my journal documenting an ongoing creative endeavor sustained by a single underlying current with 100 momentary breaks, each indicated by an individual porcelain cup which reveals both continuity and uniqueness in the way the pot is thrown, the handle is pulled and wrapped,
and the form is carved and sculpted. Each piece is photographed in its raw

Oooh. This cup breathes life! It's like an animated Henson creature! I love having two angles by which to look at it.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is amazing. I love the lighting. The colour. The surface that you use to rest the cups upon. And so perfectly consistentent - the pics! Let's the viewer really induldge in the art.
